CCCI selling essentials at subsidised prices

CHATTOGRAM: The Chattogram Chamber of Commerce and Industry (CCCI) has been selling essential goods with subsidised price for the people of Chattogram city since the beginning of Holy Ramadan month.

The programme is aimed at giving items of day-to-day necessities to common people, especially low-income and poor segment of the society who have been facing economic hardship during coronavirus pandemic.

President of CCCI Mahbubul Alam, who inaugurated the programme, said, the Chattogram chamber has been selling essentials, mainly food items, at subsidised rate from April 01 for people affected by novel cornonavirus outbreak. "We will continue this programme throughout Ramadan," he said.

"We have sold rice at a price of Tk 20 per kilogram, dal (pulses) at Tk 40 a kg and potato at Tk 10 per kg only. We have arranged the programme for the people at this crisis period," he added.

The CCCI is selling the essentials at 12 spots in the port city every day.
