Army working on project to remove Ctg waterlogging

CHATTOGRAM: The Engineering Corps of Bangladesh Army is implementing a mega project of Chattogram Development Authority (CDA) involving Tk 60 billion (6000 crore) to remove the waterlogging problem of the port city permanently.

The implementation authority of the project held a view exchange meeting with senior journalists at the conference hall of 34 Engineer Construction Brigade of Bangladesh Army on Saturday morning.

Director General Brigadier General of 34 Engineer Construction Brigade of Bangladesh Army Ahamed Tanvir Mazher Siddique said at the press conference that the engineers of Bangladesh Army held four meetings recently with the stakeholders including CDA, Chattogram City Corporation (CCC), Water Development Board (WDB) for coordination.

The Director General said, “We requested all to help the Engineer Construction Brigade of Bangladesh Army to make Chattogram free from waterlogging.

“We are continuing our work. We will build five regulators, CDA will build 12 regulators and WDB 23 regulators under the project.”

Among others, Chief Engineer of CCC Colonel Mohiuddin, Chief Engineer of CDA Hasan Shams, Engineers of Karnaphuli Gas Distribution Company Limited (KGDCL), Engineer Md Arifur Rahman of WDB and representatives of concerned stake holders were also present at the view exchange meeting.
