Chattogram Metropolitan Police (CMP) arrested Sunday morning a man who allegedly raped a housewife at his house at Lalkhan Bazar area in the port city.
The arrested person is identified as Mohammed Monir Hossain (33).
Police also detained three more persons who assisted the rapist.
One housewife came from Cumilla to the house of Monir Hossain at Lalkhan Bazar in Chattogram in search of her husband who left his house after quarreling with her.
Monir Hossain, who has been known to her, assured her that he would search and find her husband. The victim was staying at the house of Monir Hossain on Saturday. But, on Saturday night Monir Hossain raped her and snatched the money and ornaments from her.
Monir along with his three accomplices also beat up the victim at that time.
