Four people have been killed and two others gone missing after landslides hit a tourist resort in Indonesia's West Java province, national disaster management agency said on Tuesday.

Heavy downpours were blamed for the incident in Puncak resort, where many domestic holiday makers regularly visit during weekends, an official at the agency said.

A Xinhua report says quoting the official that rescue operation for the missing is underway.

Dozens of villagers, who were threatened by the possibility of further landslides, fled their homes, according to the agency.
