A plane carrying 25 people crashed late Wednesday in southern Canada, injuring several people, local media reported.

The plane is an ATR-42 carrying 22 passengers and three crew members, according to a report by the CTV, which said the aircraft crashed less than one km from the Fond-du-Lac, airport of Saskatchewan province shortly after takeoff around 6:15 pm. Wednesday (00:15 GMT Thursday).

There is so far no report of deaths resulting from the incident, reports Xinhua news agency.

The plane belongs to Saskatoon-based West Wind Aviation. The cause of the crash is under investigation.
