WINTER is a season of festivity in our country. With picnic, wedding, fairs and many such happy occasions take place during the season. I love winter in Dhaka as temperature is moderate and there is bright sunshine everywhere. It is a season of excursion and many people prefer to go abroad with their families. It is also the end of an academic year and pressure is less on school children. The Dhaka international Trade Fair (DITF) is another attraction for the city dwellers. The delicious winter cakes (pithas) are an added attraction. Winter is the time when we experience the least crisis of water or power or no sufferings water logging. A kite festival "shak-ra-in" is held at different places of old Dhaka and we see people enjoying it thoroughly with friends and families. Multicoloured kites make the sky colourful. Winter in our country is so different from many other countries.
