Use of earphones and its impact on hearing

MOBILE phone technology has come as a blessing for us in many ways. It has made our daily life easy and convenient. But like all good things it has its demerits too. Nowadays we find young people listening to music with cell phones in their ears for long hours. In some cases, they listen to music so loudly that some of them develop hearing problems. People using headphones to listen to music or attend calls are likely to have similar complaints after some time. The parents should advise their children not to hear music too often using headphones as it seriously affects our eardrums. 
We must not forget that if we keep the volume reasonably low, there should be no long-term risk of damaging our hearing. Some of us listen to music or songs with ear plugs on and walk on the road. It is extremely dangerous and accidents may happen any time. So we should be very careful about listening to music over mobile phones using headphones particularly when we are on the road.
