SWISS BANK is a safe haven for ill-gotten as well as clean money around the world. People around the world depend on Swiss Bank as the most reliable custodian of their money. Like every year, the Swiss National Bank (SNB) has disclosed deposit information of different countries with the Bank. The amount deposited last year from Bangladesh is around BDT5.5 billions which is 20 per cent higher than the previous year. It is observed that every year deposit amount by the Bangladeshi nationals in Swiss Bank is increasing and our government has very little information on the source of funds deposited with the Swiss bank. We have very little idea if the fund is illegally plundered and siphoned from the country. Reportedly the fund came from questionable sources and was therefore smuggled out. The government should seriously investigate into the matter as it is the country's money that is being smuggled out.
