The Internet along with mobile technology can be an effective tool for education. Internet is the global system of interconnected computer networks which uses the Internet protocol suite (TCP/IP) to link devices worldwide. The Internet carries an extensive range of information resources and services, such as the inter-linked hypertext documents and applications of the World Wide Web (WWW),electronic mail, telephony, and peer-to-peer networks for file sharing. In this way it is contributing immensely to spread education across the world. It thus works as an important tool for poverty reduction through universal education. It spreads across the message of acquiring knowledge. It is good to know that the government is contemplating to reduce the price of internet use which at the moment is quite high compared to the same in our neighbouring countries. Phone, Computer, and the internet are essential requirements of our daily life and it is a part of education and if we make it affordable to all classes of people it will help our country and economy in a big way. Due to the high cost of computer and internet, many in our country cannot afford those which is surely hampering the growth of a knowledge-based society. The Internet is an integral part of education in the present world. We cannot think of education without the computer and the internet like technologies and they are no longer items of luxury. We must make sure that more and more people from under-privileged sections of the society come under information technology as it will open a door of boundless opportunities for them. We have a promising young population aspiring for an IT-based society that will help us take our country to the next level of progress and development. It is high time we utilize our rich manpower to our own advantage.
