Gas cylinders need safety rules

TWO balloon vendors died recently in the capital as their gas cylinders used for inflation of balloons exploded. It is worrying on many counts. In many houses gas cylinders are used due to short supply of gas and they often become life threatening for the inmates. People die or injure themselves seriously every now and then in our country due to blast of faulty gas cylinders. There are specific safety rules to be observed for people who handle or use gas cylinders.
If we handle them with care and according to safety rules we can avoid many potential accidents. The gas cylinders should be kept away from direct sunlight and heat. Cylinder valve must be turned off when it is not in use. We should never use corroded, damaged and expired gas cylinders. We should make sure that the kitchen is airy and has plenty of ventilation. We should remember that with a little care and precaution about gas cylinders we can protect us from life threatening accidents.
