Digital marketing in digital Bangladesh

SUPPOSE you are surfing on net, scrolling down the tab and suddenly at the bottom of the screen a rectangular box appears with an advertisement, may be of Sunsilk or Dove or even Facebook. This is called "digital marketing", an umbrella term for online marketing. The term "digital marketing" simply means promoting a brand via internet using digital media. 
In today's world the word "Digital" is no longer an unknown wonder rather it is a common phenomenon. Approximately about 25 million people use internet in Bangladesh majority of whom are young men and women. Today people can not think about a society without internet. But they are hardly seen gathering knowledge from internet. They spend most of their time on social media like Facebook, Twitter, Whatsapp, Viber, Skype, Youtube, IMO etc. These social networks have become an integral part of their life and they do not hesitate to spend hours together on these sites. 
Today very few people have the time to have a look at advertisements on newspaper, magazine or billboard. They watch it on social media. It is said that marketing has always been about connecting with your customers at the right time and in the right place. It means that today you meet them where the prospective customers are spending most of their time, i.e., on the internet. Companies are spending millions to reach their potential customers via digital marketing. There are numerous digital marketing agencies in Bangladesh. Among them the leading agencies are Magnito Digital, Analyzen, Asiatic JWT, Grey advertising etc. The impact of digital marketing can hardly be overemphasized, it plays a significant role in creating brand awareness. Brands are continuously being exposed to the consumers scrolling down the facebook or popup ads in e-mail. These exposures lead to brand recognition that ultimately culminates in purchase. Our IT sector is a booming sector for job opportunities for potential candidates who love to explore themselves in the digital world.
