A park for children with special needs

CHILDHOOD presents many challenges for children with special needs, particularly on the playground. In today's society, children need to adapt to circumstances that may pose potential problems for them.
Educational and recreational institutions may find it difficult to accommodate each special-need child as every one has his or her own disability. For instance, children with visual disabilities may need revolving around space on the playground, navigating around obstacles, or finding their way to the bathroom and so on. The key is to never leave a child alone with a feeling of inadequacy. Let all of them feel as if they belong to the group, despite their differences.
It was indeed nice to know that the government has allocated a park for such children beside Mirpur Road. Here the children with special needs will be able to play and enjoy their time. The park will be a meeting place for caregivers and parents of children with special need. The number of autistic children in our country is rising but we do not have enough facilities for them. They are isolated from the mainstream society. We should make our society more disabled people-friendly so that they too have a chance to grow and form an important part of our society. Education for special children is a very expensive affair and we hope the government will build some schools in the country for the autistic children so that they can have proper education with nominal fees. Let us work together towards making our society more caring for these less fortunate people of society.
