Tobacco company to invest $2.0m in Ishwardi EPZ

Asian Tobacco (Pvt) Ltd, a Bangladeshi company, is going to establish a cigarettes and tobacco processing plant in Ishwardi Export Processing Zone with an investment of $2 million.

The company signed an agreement with Bangladesh Export Processing Zones Authority (BEPZA) at BEPZA Complex in the capital on Wednesday, reports BSS.

BEPZA Member (Investment Promotion) Md. Mahmudul Hossain Khan and Managing Director of Asian Tobacco Md. Saifur Rahman signed the agreement on behalf of their respective organisations in presence of the Executive Chairman of BEPZA Major General S M Salahuddin Islam.

BEPZA Member (Engineering) Mohammad Faruque Alam, Secretary Md. Zakir Hossain Chowdhury, General Manager (PR) Nazma Binte Alamgir, General Manager (IP) Md. Tanvir Hossain of BEPZA and Md. Saidur Rahman, Chairman of Asian Tobacco (Pvt) Ltd, among others, were present at the signing ceremony.
