The number of truck registration in the country stood at 6,795 alone between January to September 2019, according to official data.
Of the total, 5,110 trucks were registered in Dhaka during the period, as per statistics by Bangladesh Road Transport Authority (BRTA).
A total of 12,663 such vehicles were registered in 2018 while the number was 10,353 in 2017, the transport regulator data also revealed.
