Truck registration across the country stood at 2,391 in first three months of the current calendar year, according to official data.
Of them, some 1,716 trucks are based in Dhaka, showed the data by Bangladesh Road Transport Authority (BRTA).
The transport regulator data also revealed that a total of 12,663 were registered in 2018 across the country. The number stood at 10,353 in 2017.
With the latest, a total of 146,810 trucks had been registered with the BRTA in the country until 2018, it added.
