FBCCI seeks nanotechnology support from New York State senators

The Bangladesh Chambers of Commerce and Industry (FBCCI) has sought nanotechnology support from the senators of the New York State of the United States.

The apex trade body sought the support at a meeting with a delegation of the senators of the New York State at the FBCCI in the city on Friday, reports BSS citing a press release.

The delegation was led by Senator Luis R Sepolveda while other members include John Liu, James Skoufis, Kevin Parker and Leroy Comrie.

FBCCI President Sheikh F Fahim, FBCCI Senior Vice President Md Muntakim Ashraf, Vice Presidents Md Siddiqur Rahman, Md Rejaul Kariem, Hasina Newaaz, Mir Nizam Uddin Ahmed and Nizam Rajesh and Directors Md Munir Hossain, Sujib Ranjan Dash and Amzad Hossain were present at the meeting.

During the meeting, the senators expressed their keen interest in strengthening the state level partnership with Bangladesh, particularly between chambers of commerce and business councils.

They referred to Bangladesh’s impressive growth and development in different sectors, including education, ICT, tourism, industry and infrastructure.

Sheikh F Fahim highlighted FBCCI’s role as the umbrella trade organization of Bangladesh which is working closely with policymakers and stakeholders at the national and international platforms.

The FBCCI chief also apprised the delegation of Bangladesh’s stable macro-economic growth trajectory and its development in the past decade.

He also talked about the opportunity for re-skilling of the young demographic dividend towards creating an ecosystem to get on the bandwidth of 4th industrial revolution, investment in the 100 Economic Zones and manufacturing.
