The Dhaka Metropolitan Police (DMP) has allowed the members of the E-Commerce Association of Bangladesh (ECAB) to run their online delivery services as emergency products or services in the city amid the coronavirus pandemic.
According to a DMP letter issued on Saturday, the members of the ECAB now can deliver their emergency products and services by bicycle, motorcycle, covered van and other means to help the city dwellers to stay at home and stem the spread of the coronavirus pandemic.
Earlier, the ECAB said online service providers were suffering from supply chain disruptions, inadequate manpower and assistance from law-enforcement agencies amid the countrywide lockdown to check COVID-19.
