BB to release new notes from Thursday

The Bangladesh Bank (BB) is going to release new notes of Taka 10, 20, 50 and 100 denominations from Thursday ahead of the holy Eid-ul-Azha.

The new notes will be distributed from all branches of Bangladesh Bank across the country, said a press release, reports BSS.

The distribution of the new notes will continue until August 8 except the government holidays.

The notes will be distributed from Jatrabari Branch of the NCC Bank, Abdul Gani Road Corporate Branch of the Janata Bank, Jatiya Press Club Branch of the Agrani Bank, Mirpur Branch of the NRB Global Bank, Kawran Bazar Branch of the South East Bank, Bashundhara City (Panthapath) Branch of the Social Islami Bank, Chakbazar Branch of the Uttara Bank, Ramna Corporate Branch of the Sonali Bank, Uttara Branch of Dhaka Bank, Gulshan Branch of the IFIC Bank, Mohakhali Branch of the National Bank, Mohammadpur Branch of the First Security Islami Bank, Rajarbagh Branch of Janata Bank, Sadarghat Branch of the Pubali Bank, Kakril Branch of the South East Bank, Bashabo Branch of the One Bank, Shaymoli Branch of the Brac Bank, SME and Agriculture Branch at Dakshinkhan of the Dutch-Bangla Bank, Banani Branch of the Premier Bank, Dhanmondi Branch of the Bank Asia, Begum Rokeya Sarani Branch of the City Bank, Nandipara Branch of the Al-Arafah Islami Bank, Elephant Road Branch of the Prime Bank, Narayanganj Branch of the Mercantile Bank, Shimrial Branch of the Exim Bank, Gazipur Chowrasta Branch of the Islami Bank Bangladesh Limited, Savar Branch of the Uttara Bank, Savar Branch of the Mutual Trust Bank and Keraniganj Branch of the Trust Bank.

The central bank said a person will be allowed to collect notes once.
