More than seven months have passed since the past fiscal year, two key regulators of the country’s financial market are yet to release their annual reports for fiscal year 2018-19 (FY19).
Both the Bangladesh Bank (BB) and Bangladesh Securities and Exchange Commission (BSEC) are still working on the annual reports, according to the sources.
Usually annual reports of these regulators are posted on their respective websites. But the latest annual reports available on BB and BSEC websites are for FY18.
A senior official of the central bank, however, told the FE that the annual report is almost ready for publication. He said that the report will be released within this month.
When contacted, a senior official of the securities regulator said that BSEC publishes its annual report once it gets approval from the ministry of finance.
“We have sent the annual report for the fiscal year 2018-19 to the ministry. We have yet to receive the approval,” he added.
He also said the annual report will be published after getting an approved copy from the ministry.
