Marico BD declares final 200pc cash dividend

The board of directors of Marico Bangladesh Ltd has recommended final 200 per cent cash dividend for the year ended on March 31, 2020.

The board recommended the dividend and approved the audited financial statements for the year ended on March 31 at a meeting held on Tuesday through digital platform, said an official disclosure on Wednesday.

The company declared a total of 950 per cent cash dividend for the year under review, inclusive of 750 per cent interim cash dividend, which has already been paid.

The annual general meeting will be held on July 22 at Radisson Blu Dhaka Water Garden.

The company said the 15th market day from re-opening of market operation shall be considered as record date.

The basic earnings per share stood at Tk 84.01 for the year ended on March 31, 2020 as against Tk 64.23 for the previous year.

Its net asset value per share was Tk 44.05 for the year ended on March 31, 2020 as against Tk 41.34 for the previous year.

The company’s net operating cash flow per share stood at Tk 95.65 for the year ended on March 31, 2020 as against Tk 84.81 for the previous year.

Each share of Marico Bangladesh, which was listed on the Dhaka bourse in 2009, closed at Tk 1,562.50 on March 25, before the government holiday started.

The company’s share traded between Tk 1,310 and Tk 1,899.50 in the last one year.

The company’s paid-up capital is Tk 315 million and authorised capital is Tk 400 million while total number of securities is 31.50 million.

The sponsor-directors own 90 per cent stake in the company, while institutional investors own 3.05 per cent, foreign investors 5.74 per cent and the general public only 1.21 per cent as of February 29, 2020, the DSE data showed.
