LafargeHolcim Bangladesh Ltd. (LHBL) has reported a 21 per cent growth in its EPS (earnings per share) for the July-September (Q3) period of 2022, compared to the same quarter in the previous year.

For the third quarter, the cement maker has logged an EPS of Tk 0.98 as against Tk 0.81 for the same period in the previous year.

The company's profit after tax has stood at Tk 1.13 billion for this Q3 as against Tk 937 million for Q3 in 2021.

According to a disclosure, the company's earnings before interest and taxes (EBIT) has stood at Tk 1.71 billion for Q3, 2022, registering a growth of 41 per cent over the same quarter of the previous year.

"Net sales during this quarter increased 24 per cent to 5.71 billion, compared to Tk 4.60 billion in Q3, 2021," the disclosure said.

"Our journey for cost leadership remained a focal point during the quarter and had a very positive impact on the overall result," said a press release issued by the LHBL.

The success of the last quarter entirely comes from the strong top line growth, said Rajesh Surana, CEO of the LHBL, in the press release.

"Our new products and new business channels gained traction. The innovation in digital and development of new business segments also contributed strongly to our top line growth," he added.

The company's new products -- 'Holcim Water Protect' and 'Holcim Shokti' -- contributed 5.0 per cent of the total Holcim brand volume within a very short time of launching, he said.

The company's share price closed at Tk 71.80 each on Thursday on Dhaka Stock Exchange (DSE).

The LHBL, presently an 'A' category company, was listed on the stock exchanges in 2003.

The company's sponsor-directors hold 64.68 per cent stakes, the institutes 16.86 per cent, foreigners 0.64 per cent and the general shareholders 17.82 per cent as on September 30, 2022, the DSE data show.
