Listed companies of IT sector saw the highest price appreciation in last week amid price correction by many major sectors.
The companies said there was no undisclosed price sensitive information behind the unusual price hike.
During the week, the IT sector comprising 11 issues saw 8.1 per cent rise in market capitalisation as the companies' share prices advanced ranging 1.18 per cent to 41.74 per cent.
Of top 10 gainers of last week, five were from the IT sector. The companies are BDCOM Online, Agni Systems, Intech, ADN Telecom and aamra networks.
Following investors' increased participation, the IT companies posted an aggregate amount of turnover worth Tk 479.70 million in last week and grabbed 6,2 per cent of the weekly market transaction.
Of five companies, BDCOM Online was the number one gainer of last week on Dhaka Stock Exchange (DSE).
The company's share price jumped 41.74 per cent in five sessions and closed at Tk 34.30 each on Thursday.
In response to a DSE query dated March 09, 2022, the company has informed that there is no undisclosed price sensitive information for recent unusual price hike and increase in volume of shares.
Of other top gainers of the IT sector, the share price of Agni Systems advanced 16.25 per cent and finally closed at Tk 27.90 each on Thursday.
On Thursday, the share price of Intech closed at Tk 32.20 each and during the week the company's share price advanced 13.38 per cent on the premier bourse DSE.
ADN Telecom witnessed a price appreciation of 13.27 per cent and the company's share price closed at Tk 66.60 each on Thursday.
aamra networks in last week witnessed 11.92 per cent price appreciation and closed at Tk 46 each on Thursday.
Of other companies of the IT sector, the share price of aamra technologies advanced 7.18 per cent and closed at Tk 37.3 each on Thursday.
Daffodil Computers saw 6.25 per cent price appreciation in last week and the company's share price closed at Tk 66.30 each on Thursday.
Of other IT companies, the share price of eGeneration advanced 6.61 per cent, Genex Infosys 1.18 per cent, Information Services Network 7.07 per cent, and IT Consultants 9.91 per cent.
