Point-of-sale transactions cross Tk 90 billion in July-February

Consumer spending through the point-of-sale (POS) machines crossed Tk 90 billion in the first eight months of the current fiscal year.

It showed that total value of POS transactions using both debit and credit cards stood at Tk 91.15 billion in July-February period of fiscal year 2018.

Bangladesh Bank data showed that credit cards dominated the POS transactions as around 70 per cent of them took place using local and international payment cards.

The data put the total transactions through POS at Tk 124.50 billion in the past fiscal year.
