Huawei procured worth of USD 29.3m from Bangladesh in 2018

Huawei, a leading global provider of ICT infrastructure and smart devices, recently announced its procurement results for 2018 in Bangladesh. The amount of full procurement here is USD 29.3M where in the southeast asia region, it is USD 608 million. From 2016 to 2018, total procurement in the region amounted to USD 2.09 billion. The amount reflects broadly admin, engineering service and material purchases.

 

The forecast procurement budget for the SEA region in 2019 is expected to grow further, at USD 652 million. These dynamic figures were revealed during Huawei’s 2019 SEA Core Partner Convention at The Conrad Hotel in Bangkok. The event theme was “Openness, Transparency, Collaboration for Sharing the Success”. It gathered over 400 delegates from the company’s 1,900+ suppliers in the SEA region, representing various industries such as production, logistics, engineering services, enterprise network, marketing, etc.

 

In the past 3 years, Huawei’s collaboration with its 1,900+ partners generated more than 45,000 work positions in its suppliers’ companies. More than 125,000 telecom engineers were trained in the region, with over 98,000 receiving professional certifications. Huawei implemented more than 300 quality system inspections at its mainstream partners, helping over 130 companies pass ISO or other relevant certifications.

 

2019 is the year of 5G. As the most important national ICT infrastructure, 5G will provide Southeast Asia with industry opportunities worth 1.2 trillion USD. In the region, the number of 5G subscribers will top 80 million, Internet traffic will increase 5 times, over 20 smart cities are on the way, and wireless, digital and intelligent equipment will boost social productivity by 4–8% on average.
