Bangladesh Bank has asked officials of banks to refrain from making foreign trips to attend training programmes, workshops and seminars.
It also directed bank officials to avoid foreign travel for personal reasons.
The central bank gave the instructions in a circular on Sunday citing the global crisis due to the Russia-Ukraine war and the Covid-19 pandemic as a reason.
The circular said the directive will remain effective until further notice as the use of foreign currencies has increased due to such kinds of foreign trips.
