Asian stocks mostly lower

Asian stocks were mostly lower during the early day trading on Tuesday, according to the agencies.

Japan's benchmark Nikkei 225 dropped 0.7 per cent in morning trading. Australia's S&P/ASX 200 was down 1.1 per cent. South Korean markets were closed for the Memorial Day holiday. Hong Kong's Hang Seng slightly edged up while the Shanghai Composite lost 0.2 per cent to 3,084.95 points.

Meanwhile, in the currency trading, the euro fell marginally to US$1.1271 from US$1.1276 late Monday in Asia. The dollar weakened to 109.83 yen from 110.48 yen, reports FE Online.
