People use social media to get refreshments and to temporarily escape from their hectic lives. But most of the time, they get hooked on the juicy news and videos. Therefore, they lose both their time and productivity. What if there were a platform with both refreshments and creative elements?

Blogpotro is such a visionary website with the tagline 'a place where ideas connect you with creative minds.' This is not just another regular blogging website.

The most interesting part about Blogpotro is its developers. This amazing website's founder and pioneer members are not some business-savvy middle-aged people. All of them are first-year undergrads at United International University. In a recent conversation with the writer, Ahsan Farabi, the founder and co-developer of Blogpotro, shared his views and thoughts regarding his creation.

The inception of this project happened with the motivation of Jayed Ahsan, one of Farabi's close friends. He inspired him to make something brilliant like this with his skills.

"Back in my college days, Jayed showed me his different projects that grabbed my interest. I always admire him for his knowledge and hard work. Seeing him, I was inspired to learn different coding languages and website development since then," Farabi shared.

But it was not so easy for him at the beginning. Developing a creative website out of scratch was not a piece of cake for a beginner like him. From 2020, he tried and failed many times in building this platform.

"I struggled much in the early days. But my determination helped me to follow the process. Also, I got tremendous support from my friends. In my first trimester, I mentioned Blogpotro to my university friends. Everyone appreciated the project. Some of them, like Shanto, Tahmid, Ishayat, Redwan, and Israt were so enthusiastic that they joined me in making this an official thing."

There are lots of popular blogging websites nowadays. So some unique ideas were required to make Blogpotro a success. Farabi knew it well as he said,

"During the pandemic period, we all spent a lot of time on different social media. But the productivity is very less there. Mostly we watched endless short videos or memes. But, again, telling someone to refrain from entertainment and study continuously is not realistic. So I tried to blend both of them."

There are some thoughtful features on the website that justifies Farabi's words. Blogs of different genres like entertainment, healthcare, productivity, learning, and so on are categorised there beautifully. There is a feature of sound which helps students during their study.

"Those are not some random music. Rather, we have added some scientifically proven pieces of music that enhance attention and focus for students," Farabi added.

There is chatter to communicate with members of the Blogpotro community. People can add charming colours and themes to the blogs that give the total interface an engaging look. Also, people can share stories like other social media there.

There is a system of credits to motivate the members to write productive and engaging blogs. The views of each blog are counted, and the trending blogs earn a certain number of credits. Once the credit count reaches 1000, the writer will start to earn some monetary rewards.

"This way, a healthy competition starts to write interesting blogs among people. You have to share creative ideas and useful tips or explain a difficult academic topic more easily to increase your views. So I think it generates productivity and the thrust to gain knowledge," Farabi explained.

"Our main focus is the university students for now. If we can reach them, we will start to add different features for people of other generations," Farabi remarked.

The developers are not sitting idle. They are striving to add better features. Farabi informed about the upcoming updates, "The official app is coming in Playstore within next month. A feature called 'study chat' is on the table to make separate chat rooms for particular academic topics with necessary materials."

As a CSE student, Farabi doesn't have the dream of working under giants like Google, Microsoft, and others. Rather he believes in following the process to earn maximum skill in this sector. That doesn't mean his dreams are small.

"In five years, I want to make Blogpotro a brand like other popular social media platforms. The high ambition might seem absurd to some people. But I keep in mind that Mark Zuckerberg started his journey similarly."

While it is always appreciable that youngsters come forward with unique ideas, they can certainly achieve bigger heights with better support.
