Relief from Iran, Indonesian reach Ctg

A total of 48.16 tonnes of relief materials from Iran and Indonesia for the Rohingya refugees in Bangladesh arrived at Chittagong Shah Amanat International Air port on Friday.

 

Deputy Foreign Minister of Iran Ibrahim Rahimpur formally handed over 41 tonnes of relief materials to the Deputy Commissioner of Chittagong Zillur Rahman Chowdhury, according to BSS.

 

The relief materials included blankets, tent making equipments, edible oil and cloths.

 

Later, an Indonesian flight carrying 7.16 tonnes of relief materials also arrived at the airport on Friday evening.

 

Earlier, 53 tonnes of relief materials from India and 14 tonnes from Morocco for the Rohingya refugees also reached the airport Thursday.

 

Malaysian government also sent 12 tonnes of relief materials on September 9.

 

Member of Parliament Moinuddin Khan Badol was also present on the occasion.
