Light rain likely to continue until Wednesday morning

Light to moderate rain/thunder showers accompanied by temporary gusty wind is likely to continue at most places across the country including the capital Dhaka until Wednesday morning, according to a 24-hour met office bulletin.

Talking to The Financial Express, Abdul Mannan, a meteorologist of Bangladesh Meteorological Department, said a cloudy weather may prevail and rain may continue until Wednesday morning in most places of the country.

However, the rain may stop from Wednesday noon, he said.

The met office reported the highest 163 mm rainfall in Jashore in the last 24-hour until 6:00 am today while it recorded 132mm rainfall in Dhaka.

The Depression over Northwest Bay and adjoining West-central Bay moved north-northeastawards, has weakened into a well-marked low and now lies over North Bay and adjoining Bangladesh coast as a low-pressure area, the bulletin said, adding that it will be weakened further and become unimportant

Night temperature may remain nearly unchanged and day temperature may rise by (1-2)° Celsius over the country, the forecast added.

In its 48-hour forecast, the bulletin stated that rainfall activity may decrease.
