BD launches new online marketplace for farm products

The government has launched an online agricultural market portal, hortexbazarbd.com, to boost trade of farm products during coronavirus pandemic, said officials.
Agriculture minister Dr Mohammad Abdur Razzaque inaugurated the portal during a virtual meeting on development and evaluation of the ministry's projects and programmes on the day.
Agriculture secretary Md Nasiruzzaman chaired the programme while other senior officials of the ministry also participated.
Hortex Foundation, an organisation under the agriculture ministry which focuses mainly on external trade of farm produces, has developed the portal.
The portal will deal both local and foreign buyers, said Md Nasiruzzaman.
People can now orders seasonal fruits like mango, litchi, banana, fragrant rice and other many products using the site which would reach to their door steps, he said.
