BD 10th Islamic finance market by asset, Iran first

In terms of asset value, Bangladesh ranked 10th in Islamic finance market globally.

An international report on global Islamic economy showed the scenario which estimated that the country’s Islamic finance market asset was $34 billion in 2017.

The State of the Global Islamic Economy Report 2018/19, prepared by Thomson Reuters in collaboration with Diner Standard, unveiled the data.

It put Iran at the number one position with estimated $578 billion asset of Islamic finance market.

Saudi Arabia ranked second with $509 billion asset in the market in 2017 followed by Malaysia ($491 billion), United Arab Emirates ($222 billion) and Qatar ($129 billion).

Kuwait ranked sixth in the market having asset worth $109 billion and followed by Bahrain ($84 billion), Indonesia ($82 billion) and Turkey ($54 billion).
