65-day ban on fishing in Bay from May 20

The government decided on Thursday to impose 65 days ban on fishing in the Bay of Bengal aiming to increase breeding of maritime fisheries.

The Ministry of Fisheries and Livestock issued a circular in this regard on Thursday saying that the ban will come into effect on May 20 and will continue until July 23, 2021.

The ban will help increase breeding and preservation of maritime fishes and sustainable development of country's fisheries sector, according to the circular.
