15-km tailback on Dhaka-Chattogram highway

Wednesday, 15 August 2018

Hundreds of passengers have been stuck in 15-kilometre-long tailback on Dhaka-Chattogram highway since Wednesday morning due to slow movement of vehicles ahead of Eid-ul-Azha in Daudkandi area.

The tailback was seen stretching from Meghna-Gumti Bridge toll plaza to Iliatganj in Daudkandi upazila following the heavy pressure of vehicles, said Nazrul Islam, superintendent of Cumilla police.

Earlier on Tuesday, a section of garment workers put up a barricade near Meghna Bridge at Munshiganj point, disrupting the traffic movement, says a UNB report.
