Two Bangladesh origin US cops awarded in New York

Bangladesh Consulate General in the US in a special ceremony on Saturday awarded two Bangladesh origin New York Police officers for their bravery while performing duties.

In a breviary act, police officer Sayeed Ali, a US Army combat veteran who served in Iraq and Afghanistan-had no trouble fending off five homeless vagrants with his baton and his feet in a subway recently that enlightened the name of Bangladesh.

Secondly, officer - Khandaker Abdullah - was honoured for being promoted as captain of New York Police Department (NYPD) among the other Bangladeshi-Americans, which is also very prestigious for Bangladesh, reports UNB.

Bangladesh Permanent Representative to the United Nations Ambassador Masud Bin Momen, NYPD Commissioner's representative Deputy Chief Charles Scholl, Executive Officer of Patrol Borough Brooklyn South, Bangladeshi-American Police Association President Sujat Khan and General Secretary Humayun Kabir, among others, were present at the ceremony.
