At least five people were injured after a building collapsed in Dhaka’s South Keraniganj area on Friday morning, according to Fire Service and Civil Defence officials.
Confirming the matter, Ziaur Rahman, an operator at the control room of the Fire Service and Civil Defence told The Financial Express that five residents, who lived in the three-storey building built on a swamp at Maddha Charail in the area, were injured after it toppled at 8:21 am.
The injured residents were taken to the Sir Salimullah Medical College Hospital in the capital, he said.
Six firefighting units rushed to the spot after being informed, he added.
