Prime Minister Sheikh Hasina on Sunday asked the authorities concerned to quickly assess the damage and provide assistance to cyclone Fani victims.
She also prayed for the people who died during the cyclone and extended condolence to the bereaved families.
The Prime Minister, who is now in London, also directed her party Awami League's leaders and activists to stand by the cyclone victims, says a UNB report.
Cyclone Fani hit Bangladesh on Saturday morning, damaging houses and cropland. At least six people were killed in lightning strikes in Kishoreganj on Friday when the cyclone's peripheral impact was felt.
Ten more deaths were reported from across the country on Saturday.
The damage to lives and properties was reduced thanks to the government's adequate preparations.
