A four-member probe body formed as per the directives of the High Court (HC) to investigate the death of three-year-old Raifa Khan at Max Hospital in Chattogram started its work on Tuesday.
The probe body arrived at the Chattogram Circuit House in the morning and talked to Raifa's father Rubel Khan who accused physicians of doing 'wrong treatment', reports UNB.
Saifullahil Azam, chief of the probe committee, said, "We've talked to both sides and recorded their statements. We'll submit our report after investigation."
Later, the investigation committee visited Max Hospital at Mehedibagh of the city.
The four-member probe body, headed by joint secretary Saifullahil Azam of the Health Service Division under the Health Ministry, was constituted as per the HC directives to investigate the death of the minor girl.
Talking to reporters after making his deposition before the probe panel, Rubel, also a journalist, alleged that his daughter was victim of medical murder and demanded exemplary punishment of those responsible for it.
He also alleged that he was receiving threat from different quarters to withdraw the case filed over the incident, and demanded Prime Minister Sheikh Hasina's intervention for ensuring justice for her daughter.
Raifa Khan, 3, daughter of Rubel Khan, a staff reporter of national newspaper Dainik Samakal, died due to wrong treatment at the private hospital in the port city on June 29 last.
On July 7, two physicians were sacked as a probe committee found their negligence in the treatment of the minor girl that caused her death.
On July 21, a case was filed against four people in connection with the death of Raifa with Chawkbazar Police Station.
