PM takes responsibility for Prof Muzaffar’s treatment

Prime Minister Sheikh Hasina has taken the responsibility for the medical treatment of veteran politician and National Awami Party (NAP) President Professor Muzaffar Ahmed.

Awami League General Secretary Obaidul Quader gave the information on Friday, reports BSS.

The Road Transport and Bridges Minister visited Prof Muzaffar at the Apollo Hospital in Dhaka and informed about the decision.

Senior Information Officer of road transport ministry Md Abu Naser said Obaidul Quader paid all treatment costs till Friday on behalf of the Prime Minister.

“I’ve come to see ailing Muzaffar Ahmed, an advisory council member of Liberation War-time provisional government, as per the directives of Prime Minister Sheikh Hasina,” Naser quoted the minister as saying.

The 97-year-old Prof Muzaffar was admitted to the Intensive Care Unit (ICU) of Apollo Hospital on February 17.

He has been suffering from old-age complications, doctors said.
