Passengers will have to carry photo IDs while travelling to local destinations by air.

The Civil Aviation Authority of Bangladesh (Caab) issued the instruction on Tuesday, two days after a reported attempt to hijack a Biman Bangladesh Airlines aircraft at Chattogram airport.

Valid passports, NID cards, driving licences, student IDs and office IDs will have to be shown while collecting boarding cards, Biman said in a statement.

Biman requested the passengers to keep photo IDs with them travelling to domestic destinations. "Otherwise, they'll be restricted from travelling," the statement added, reports UNB.
