An oil tanker of Jamuna Petroleum Company Limited mounted a median strip in the city's Shahbagh area on Tuesday.

Witnesses said the Tangail-bound oil tanker carrying 8,000 litres of oil from Jamuna Narayaganj oil depot crashed into the road divider in front of the Shishu Park around 1:30pm while giving side to other vehicles and climbed over it.

However, no fuel spilled into the road from the tanker, reports UNB.

Another oil tanker rushed in from Narayangaj and removed half of the oil till filing of this report around 7:00pm, said Traffic Inspector (Shahbagh) Ziauddin Khan. "The oil tanker will be removed once it is empty," he said.
