Nobel laureate Yunus condoles demise of Stephen Hawking

Nobel Peace laureate Prof Muhammad Yunus has condoled the death of world renowned physicist Stephen Hawking.

In a condolence message on Wednesday, Yunus said, "I am deeply shocked at the sudden passing of Professor Stephen Hawking."

"The world has lost a scientist of rare capability in understanding the universe, and who dedicated his life to make the world a better place," he added.

The 2006 Nobel Peace Prize winner also prayed for the eternal peace of the British physicist's departed soul and conveyed deep sympathy to his bereaved family.

Stephen Hawking, known for his ground-breaking work on black holes and relativity, passed away at his home in Cambridge, London early Wednesday morning, aged 76.
