Legendary actress Sarah Begum Kabori will be buried at the Banani graveyard in the capital on Saturday after Zuhr prayers.
Prior to this, she will receive a state guard of honour at the same place as a freedom fighter, reports UNB.
However, due to the pandemic, she will not be taken to the Central Shaheed Minar or FDC for fans and co-artistes to pay last respect to the eminent actress, confirmed Kabori's son Shaker Chishti and several leaders of Bangladesh Film Artists Association.
"Amma (mother) will be buried at Banani with state guard of honour after Janaza. We have decided not to take her elsewhere due to the ongoing pandemic situation," Chishti said.
He requested co-artistes, admirers and well-wishers of his mother to pray for her eternal peace.
One of the most beloved and well-respected faces of Bangladesh’s film industry, Sarah Begum Kabori lost her battle with Covid-19 on Saturday at Sheikh Russell Gastroliver Hospital in the capital.
