A fire broke out in a garment jhut (waste fabric) godown at Kathaltola area of Konabari in Gazipur on Friday, fire service said.
The fire originated around 4:30 pm from Khokon Mia’s godown and spread out soon to five to seven more adjacent godowns, reports UNB.
On information, five firefighting units rushed to the spot and were trying to tame down the fire, said Abdul Hamid Mia, deputy assistant director of Gazipur Fire Service and civil defence control room.
