Bus owners agree to introduce half fares for students in city from Dec 1

In the wake of recent road accidents and the subsequent students’ agitation, private bus owners finally announced to introduce half fares for students in the capital from Wednesday.

Dhaka bus owners Association President Khandaker Enayetullah made the announcement at a press conference in the city today (Tuesday) calling upon the agitating students to leave the streets and go back to study.

He declared that all buses and mini buses will be collecting half fares starting at 7:00am to 8:00pm from all students carrying ID cards with pictures of respective educational institutions.

Like the BRTC buses, half fares for students will not be applicable during weekends and government holidays.

No half-fare provision for students in other cities will be applicable.
