Ex-whip Mostafa Suja passes away

Former whip and Awami League MP from Khulna-4 Mostafa Rashidi Suja died at Mount Elizabeth Hospital in Singapore on Thursday night. He was 68.

He breathed his last at around 12 midninght, said his brother Mortoza Rashidi Dara.

Suja, who had been suffering from kidney ailments, was admitted to the hospital on July 18.

The former whip left behind wife, one son, two daughters and a host of relatives to mourn his death.

He was elected parliament member from Khulna-4 constituency (Rupsha, Terokhada, Digholia) thrice.

Suja was made whip by the then ruling Awami League in 1996, according to UNB news agency.

Meanwhile, newly elected mayor of Khulna City Corporation Talukder Abdul Khalek, Awami League MP Mizanur Rahman , Begum Monnujan Sufian, MP and Fisheries and Livestock Minister Narayon Chandra Chanda expressed shock at his death and conveyed sympathy to Suja's bereaved family members.
