Traffic Division of the Dhaka Metropolitan Police (DMP) on Tuesday realised Tk 3.2 million in fines from traffic offenders in the city.
Besides, a total of 6331cases were also filed against different modes of vehicles for violating traffic rules, DMP said in a statement.
Of the cases, 1,105 were lodged for driving on the wrong sides, 117 for using hydraulic horns, nine for using hooters and beacon lights, and 14 others for using tinted glasses.
As for traffic violations by motorcycles, the traffic division filed 3994 cases and seized 118 motorcycles.
A total of 22 motorcyclists faced cases for using mobile phones while driving.
Apart from this, the traffic police also dumped 16 vehicles and wrecked 822 others during the drive.
