Dhaka Metropolitan Police (DMP) on Sunday realised over Tk 1.376 million as fines from different traffic rule offenders.
In separate drives, DMP filed a total of 2,129 cases against different modes of vehicles for traffic rule violations, according to DMP data.
Of the cases, 358 were lodged for driving on the wrong sides, 37 for using hydraulic horn, four for using hotter and beacon light, and 17 others for using tinted glass
Police also filed 1,047 cases against motorcycles and seized 73 others for violating traffic rules. It also filed cases against 11 bikers for using mobile phones while driving.
Apart from this, the DMP dumped seven vehicles and wrecked 282 others during the drive.
