Traffic Division of the Dhaka Metropolitan Police (DMP) on Monday realised Tk 2.314 million in fines from traffic offenders in the city.
Besides, a total of 4,103 cases were also filed against different modes of vehicles for violating traffic rules, DMP said in a statement.
Of the cases, 822 were lodged for driving on the wrong sides, 88 for using hydraulic horns, six for using hooters and beacon lights, and 18 others for using tinted glasses.
As for traffic violations by motorcycles, the traffic division filed 1,656 cases and seized 121 motorcycles.
A total of 11 motorcyclists faced cases for using mobile phones while driving.
Apart from this, the traffic police also dumped 15 vehicles and wrecked 750 others during the drive.
