Traffic division of the Dhaka Metropolitan Police (DMP) in their simultaneous drives on the city streets on Wednesday filed 5,844 cases against different modes of vehicles for traffic rule violation.
The department also realised Tk 2.821 million as fines for the violations, according to DMP data.
Of the total cases, 1,126 cases were lodged for driving on wrong sides, 97 for using hydraulic horns, 10 for using hooters and beckon lights and 18 others for using tinted glasses, reports BSS.
DMp also filed 2,514 cases against motorcycles and seized 114 others for violation of the traffic rules.
Traffic police has dumped 16 vehicles and wrecked 870 others.
