DMP arrests 70 in anti-narcotics drive

Dhaka Metropolitan Police (DMP) in a 24-hour-long anti-narcotics drive, ended at 6:00am on Monday, arrested 70 drug suspects from different areas of the capital city for selling and consuming illegal drugs.

Different police stations under the DMP conducted the drive in various places of the city and seized 1204 pieces of sedative yaba tablets, 708 grams heroin, 150 gram cannabis, and 27 bottles of phensedyl, according to a DMP statement.

A total of 43 cases have been filed under the Narcotic Control Act against the suspects with the concerned police stations in the city, the statement further added.
